Cafe KatZwei
A moment to unwind in the city.
At Cafe KatZwei, try fresh pasta with a hearty meat Bolognese or a platter of meat, fish and vegetable appetisers. The menu also offers wine, whisky and more.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A good place to start at Cafe KatZwei is the fresh pasta: thick, chewy noodles served with a generously chunky meat sauce. One diner said it was a dish they always ordered. The menu also features truffle-scented Bolognese and Roman-style carbonara. If you’re dining with a group, ordering two pasta dishes to share is another option.
For a first course, the assorted appetiser platters come with a little of everything: meat, fish and vegetables, in 3- or 5-item selections. For a meat-focused start, there’s also a charcuterie platter with pâté and cured ham, suited to pairing with beer, a highball or wine. Other choices include ajillo with head-on prawns and mushrooms, and fresh-fish carpaccio. It’s an appealing line-up whether pasta is the centrepiece or you’re settling in for drinks and a few bites.
Dinner sets are served from 18 to 21 and include options such as sautéed Sangen pork shoulder loin, the fish of the day and fresh Bolognese pasta. Each set comes with 3 appetisers, salad, bread and dessert. The pork is served with balsamic sauce; the fish dish changes with the day’s selection, so you can choose between a meat or fish main.
There’s a broad choice of drinks to accompany the food, including wine and cocktails, as well as around 30 kinds of whisky. Wine options include a dry Viognier described as having apricot aromas and a gently bitter finish, and a Sauvignon Blanc with herbal and grapefruit notes. Whether you’re sitting down for pasta or grazing on appetisers with a drink, there are plenty of food-and-drink combinations to choose from.
